Experience construction progress in Berlin-Lichtenberg: Europe's largest modular construction project is growing

Impressions of the construction in Lichtenberg

Experience modular construction

In Berlin-Lichtenberg, construction of Europe's largest modular housing project is progressing at an impressive pace. By the end of 2026, 1,500 apartments are to be built here - realized in a modular construction method that focuses on efficiency and sustainability.

The construction project in figures:

  • Every week, a complete floor is filled with 36 Wohnungen completed, including all ancillary work
  • Every 30 minutes, a prefabricated residential module is precisely integrated into the building structure using a crane.

The pre-production of the modules in the factory reduces construction times on site by up to 50 %. At the same time, standardized production reduces potential construction defects and reworking.

Cooperation in the joint venture
The project is being developed as part of a joint venture between Capital Bay and Daiwa House Modular Europe. While Capital Bay is responsible for land and project acquisition, financing and long-term management, Daiwa House is responsible for technical implementation.
