Capital Bay GmbH has a new CFO: Christoph Geißler handed over his CFO duties to Rolf Engel on 1 August 2019. In future, Geißler will focus on his position as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and thus on managing the rapidly growing transaction and investment area as well as building up international capital sales.
Engel will be responsible for finance and accounting as well as the company's fund business at Capital BAY. As Executive Chairman of Capital Bay Fund Management, he will also manage the fully regulated business in Luxembourg.
Rolf Engel comes from the International Campus Group, which he co-founded in 2011 and helped to build up in various management positions. In the course of the takeover of the Luxembourg Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) of IC by CapitalBAY, now Capital Bay Fund Management S.á.r.l., which he initiated, Engel also joins the management board of CapitalBAY. At the same time, he remains a shareholder of the International Campus Group (via MMI GmbH) and a member of the Board of the Luxembourg parent company IC Group Holdings S.à r.l..
As a former CEO (including at Hornblower Fischer AG) and board member of various commercial banks, international brokerage houses and investment companies, Rolf Engel has extensive experience in the international capital markets, investment banking and investment business/venture capital. He has successfully (co-)established various companies as a manager or (co-)investor. Engel completed his medical studies at the University of Munich (LMU) and completed his eMBA at the University of Zurich (in co-operation with Yale University in New Haven and Fudan University in Shanghai). He also completed a degree in property economics at the EBS (European Business School).
