The successful topping-out ceremony for the project on Landsberger Allee in Berlin-Lichtenberg marked a significant milestone for modular housing construction in Europe: 3,289 modules have been installed and will eventually form 1,548 apartments\u2014currently the largest modular housing project in Europe.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Gewobag, Daiwa House Modular Europe is developing a neighborhood here that demonstrates the potential of industrial and modular construction for the German housing market. The structural work is now complete, and the final phase of construction involves finishing the facades.<\/p>\n

This project exemplifies a shift in the construction industry: away from fragmented, individual processes and toward scalable, efficient, and predictable solutions. Modular construction enables a new level of speed and quality in housing development\u2014and provides answers to one of the greatest challenges of our time: creating affordable housing on a large scale.<\/p>\n

This project originated from a strategic decision: Together with Markus Terboven, George Salden, CEO of Capital Bay, brought Daiwa House\u2014a global leader in modular construction\u2014to Germany, secured the production site in F\u00fcrstenwalde, oversaw the transaction, and structured the joint venture. This laid the groundwork for projects of this scale.<\/p>\n

With guests from the worlds of politics, government, and business\u2014including Federal Minister of Construction Verena Hubertz, Berlin\u2019s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, and representatives from Gewobag and Daiwa House\u2014it became clear at the groundbreaking ceremony that modular construction is no longer a niche solution, but rather a key building block for the future of the housing market in Germany. This project demonstrates what is possible. Now Germany needs more projects of this kind.<\/p>\n
